Support FAQs

1. When is support available? 
Live Chat is available from Monday to Friday from 9am to around 8pm UK time. Our support team will be happy to answer your questions. We can accept questions in English, Spanish, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese. You can also send us your questions or see our help documents at http://basekit.zendesk.com. During UK business hours you can usually expect a response within an hour. Outside of UK business hours we will do our best to answer your questions as quickly as possible. We do not provide telephone support. 

 

2. What payment methods can I use? 

Payment methods vary by country. In the UK, Europe and the US You can pay monthly or yearly using Visa, MasterCard/Maestro, American Express or Paypal. In other countries additional payment methods may be available. 

 

3. Can I set up an online shop? 

Ecommerce is available with all packages except demo and basic. You can use our Google Checkout Widgets or you can embed another ecommerce platform into your BaseKit site (such as Paypal, Ecwid or Wazala). Read more about this in Ecommerce tutorials. 

 

4. Will ".basekit" always appear in my URL? 

No. You can change this by mapping a domain you already own to your BaseKit site. For more information on how to do so, see Mapping a domain If you don't own a domain name you can map your BaseKit site to, you can also Buy a domain with us. 

 

5. Can I use a domain I bought somewhere else or do I have to transfer it? 

You can use a domain bought somewhere else without a problem. There is no need for you to transfer your domain to us. 

 

6. How much does a domain name cost? 

Domain Names can cost from £7 up to around £20. It depends on the Domain Name you chose and how popular it is. They typically cost around £11 a year. 

 

7. Can I add adverts to my website? 

Yes.

8. Can I set up my email with BaseKit?
We do not provide email accounts with your BaseKit domain, but we can help you with setting up Google Apps, which will give you 10 free email accounts (name@somedomain.com).

9. If I pay for a year but then I want to upgrade my account, what should I do?
You can click on Account and then you can change your account here. Or get in touch with our support team at http://basekit.zendesk.com

10. Do you have a blog feature? 

No we do not have a blog feature but we are working on one. We have no release date for this feature yet.

11. Can you send me an invoice? 

Invoicing is not currently available. We are aware of the need to provide invoices but we are unable to offer this at present.

12. I want to show my images - Do you have a gallery? 

Yes, we have a Carousel Widget, which lets you create a sequence of images or other elements.

13. I already have a site. Can I import it into BaseKit? 

No you cannot import a site into BaseKit, but you can easily recreate it.


14. I want to create more than 7 sites - is it possible? 

Yes. Please can get in touch with our support team and they will take you through the options.

15. Can I upload my own videos to my BaseKit site? 

You can upload videos up to 20mb. If your video is bigger than this, we recommend you use a video hosting service like YouTube or Vimeo and embed it.
