As we continue to strive to form new partnerships and grow existing ones that realise our ultimate mission for tech democracy for small businesses, we’ve found ourselves in need of a new marketing specialist to help build out our campaign strategy and measure its effectiveness as we expand our BaseKit offering.
Enter our new Campaign Marketing Lead Emily Gwilliam.
This week we sat down with Emily to learn more about her career to date, why she wanted to work at BaseKit and what she enjoys doing in her spare time.
Tell us a bit about your experience?
Since graduating from university with a degree in Business Management, I’ve done a bit of everything! I started as a Financial Planning Analyst in a transport company, I then went to work for a private jet company as a Commercial Analyst. Having then moved to work as an analyst in a marketing team, I found my love for marketing and became a Marketing Manager for a catering equipment company!
What most attracted you to work at BaseKit?
The culture and the people. As soon as you start to do your research on BaseKit, it’s clear how much they care about their employees, from flexible working, to becoming a B Corp. I knew that transitioning to a small, but connected business was the right thing for me.
What does your new role involve?
I originally started as a maternity cover as Campaign Marketing Lead. I started by creating brand new campaign automations to help communicate the right message, at the right time, to existing partners and new target audiences to make sure they are always informed on all things BaseKit, from our products and thought-leadership to our plans! I’m now working on setting up and managing a brand new business initiative for BaseKit… exciting things are coming!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Testing and evaluating the best ways to communicate to partners. It’s so important that our existing and prospective partners are always well informed about all the exciting things happening here at BaseKit… and being part of that is great!
How would you describe the culture?
Connected, honest, and friendly. Everyone supports each other across the business!
What are your main goals?
To try and capture as many new customers to become partners, by informing them about everything we do here at BaseKit.
Favourite thing about BaseKit?
The flexibility and the culture. From the moment I started, it was clear that everyone is working towards the same goals, whilst supporting that work-life balance at the same time.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Having recently been married, my Husband and I are trying to continue to travel as much as possible, whether that’s in the UK or elsewhere! We also love to find new restaurants to try new dishes, as well going to the gym… all about balance!
