Welcome to BaseKit! Could you tell us a little bit about your previous experience?
For the past 4 and a half years, I’ve been working at Box, who specialise in cloud content management – this involved a variety of partner sales roles, the last of which was running the partner sales team for EMEA. My background prior to that was in technology more broadly, and prior to that telecoms.
What most attracted you to BaseKit?
The most attractive thing for me was the product and the market opportunity for a mobile-first web builder, which I think has huge potential. I was also drawn to the culture of the organisation, and the company vision painted by the leadership team and board members.
What does your new role involve?
My role involves running the go-to-market activities at BaseKit, which covers sales and marketing, making sure we are delivering against our ambitious growth plans, and contributing to the overall company’s strategy.
What are your main goals for working here?
Driving new revenues through evolving the BaseKit partner eco system, developing the GTM for Go [a brand new sitebuilder app, developed by BaseKit], and contributing to the leadership team.
Since joining the team, what’s been your favourite thing about BaseKit?
I’ve really enjoyed getting out on the road with the team meeting with existing and potential partners, seeing their excitement around the company and offerings. It’s also been great to get a first-hand insight into the improved coordination and communications that has come from implementing OKRs.
How are you finding working in Bristol?
I’m really enjoying the company culture and the city’s vibrant nature – there is so much development going on. I look forward to the longer days and warmer weather to see more of the city.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
My main priority is spending time with my family – I have a wife and two young boys, both balls of energy! Whenever I get the chance, I enjoy taking part in sporting activities – mountain biking, tennis and golf are personal favourites of mine; although I spend more time these days being a coach and taxi driver to my boys.
