Meet Tash, Associate Product Manager

Enter our new Associate Product Manager Tashaira Morgan.

We recently sat down with Tash to learn more about her career to date, what led her to BaseKit and how she likes to spend her time outside of work.

Tell us a little bit about your experience?

My journey in tech started when I was an apprentice. I worked as a software and web developer, but also wore many hats and worked in customer support. Working in both roles attracted me to product management.

What most attracted you to work at BaseKit?

I like working at smaller companies, especially when they have the same values. The interview process was unlike any I had experienced before. Instead of the usual grilling, I was welcomed into a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The team was genuinely interested in getting to know me beyond my technical skills. They asked about my hobbies, my passions, and my dreams.

What does your new role involve?

My role as a product manager involves a multitude of tasks that are essential to the success of the product. Among these tasks are researching and analysing market trends, determining customer needs and preferences, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering and design, conducting market testing.

All of these tasks require a great deal of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, as a product manager, I am responsible for ensuring that the product meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers and delivers value to the business.

How would you describe the culture?

The culture at BaseKit is great. As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy working for smaller companies because they allow everyone to get to know each other beyond their own team.

What are your main goals?

My primary goals are to enhance my product management skills and leverage the usability sessions that I am conducting to improve the BaseKit platform. These sessions primarily revolve around gathering feedback from customers to identify and address any usability issues they may be encountering while using the platform.

Favourite thing about BaseKit?

My favourite thing about BaseKit is that ideas and suggestions are always heard and considered if they meet the company’s needs. This shows that BaseKit is very proactive.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, both in the UK and abroad. I love exploring and experiencing new things.
