What is the process for integrating BaseKit, what developer resources or plugins are available?
BaseKit integration for hosting companies is designed to be streamlined and flexible, offering deployment as either a SaaS (hosted by BaseKit) or an on-premise solution (hosted by the provider).
The process begins with a structured onboarding project, where BaseKit collaborates closely with the partner to align product configuration—such as branding, language, and user flows—and connect the platform via API or a range of ready-made plugins for popular control panels like cPanel, Plesk, Upmind and WHMCS.
Integration covers user and package provisioning, billing system mapping, and a full purchase flow review, culminating in staff training and the assignment of a dedicated account manager to ensure a successful launch and ongoing growth.
To support a wide range of technical environments, BaseKit offers an extensive REST API, detailed developer documentation, and sample code for custom development. We also provide plugins for automated provisioning on leading hosting and billing platforms, reducing development requirements and accelerating time-to-market for new services.
Additional support includes marketing resources, migration assistance, and best-practice guidance, with the BaseKit team available for technical queries and project management throughout the partnership lifecycle.
How does BaseKit ensure the security and privacy of customer websites?
BaseKit ensures the security and privacy of customer websites through rigorous technical safeguards and continuous system improvement.
Automated vulnerability monitoring, regular penetration testing, improved firewalling, and DDOS protection keep BaseKit resilient against evolving threats.
The platform is fully self-contained, which minimizes external risks and simplifies security management at scale, BaseKit supports instances running over 100,000 sites.
Our dedicated sysadmin and security team provides 24/7 support, and business-critical updates such as improved docker stack construction and secure local proxying of third-party services are regularly deployed.
BaseKit maintains strict compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR. Processes are in place to ensure personal information is only used as outlined in clear, transparent privacy policies.
Data is stored securely using a combination of physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards. Customers benefit from features like marketing consent options, and both staff and third-party suppliers are audited or trained on data security best practices.
Does BaseKit provide migration support for moving existing customer websites from legacy platforms?
BaseKit provides end-to-end website migration support for hosting companies looking to move customer sites from legacy platforms. Our service combines automated tools for speed with manual input by a dedicated team to ensure migration quality, managing projects that range from dozens to thousands of websites at a time.
The process is flexible and transparent, starting with custom process validation and followed by bulk migrations managed in batches, complete with clear communications to end-customers throughout each stage.
Our team can migrate websites from any platform, with limitations only based on features that can be mirrored in BaseKit. This service helps hosting partners upgrade customers, streamline operations, and reduce the complexity and costs of supporting outdated systems.
How customisable is the BaseKit platform, and what options exist for white-label deployment?
BaseKit is a highly flexible, white-label website builder and e-commerce platform designed for hosting companies to resell under their own brand.
Partners can provide a logo for display on the main menu within the platform, and apply branding to the onboarding flow. They can also control which features and templates are offered to customers and integrate BaseKit using our API or a range of popular hosting control panel plugins. The platform also supports up to 25 languages for localisation in multiple countries.
We offer seamless onboarding, scalable website migration, and ongoing partner support, making it easy for hosting companies to offer modern, mobile-optimised website and e-commerce tools to small business customers, while maintaining full ownership of the end-to-end customer experience.
What ongoing support, training, and marketing resources does BaseKit provide to partners?
BaseKit provides hosting partners with dedicated second-line support, expert training, and comprehensive marketing resources to ensure ongoing growth.
Partners benefit from hands-on account management, growth insights, technical support, access to a library of sales and marketing materials and a comprehensive white-label product knowledge base.
We also release new features and updates to the platform every two weeks, which are shared with partners to help find fresh opportunities to promote our website, e-commerce, and bookings solutions and engage small business customers.
Does your platform AI handle sensitive customer data, and if so, how?
As a B Corp, we have a policy of only introducing AI features where we truly believe they will add value to our customers and we only share the bare minimum of data with the AI platforms we use. Currently we integrate with OpenAI to achieve the following AI powered features in the platform.
AI site generation during onboarding
The only data shared with OpenAI is the 2 pieces of data entered by the customer during onboarding (their brand/company name and a short paragraph describing their business) and the customer’s language. No other data, or PII data, is shared.
Ecommerce product description writer
This feature suggests improved copy for the description of an existing ecommerce product in the customer’s store. The only data shared with OpenAI is the selected length and tone, from set drop down options, the text they want to improve, which defaults to the product’s original copy, and the customer’s language. No other data, or PII data, is shared.
Website copy writer
This feature suggests improved copy for text within the customer’s website. The only data shared with OpenAI is the selected tone of voice, from set drop down options, the copy they want to improve, which defaults to the text they selected on their website, and the customer’s language. No other data, or PII data, is shared.
