BaseKit Data Highlights Q1 2024
Having wrapped up the first quarter of 2024, we caught up with Kerry, BaseKit’s dedicated Insights Manager to find out how the BaseKit Platform is performing for our partners.
Kerry’s valuable insights help BaseKit evolve our products to meet the needs and expectations of our partners’ customers. They also provide our partners with a deeper understanding of BaseKit customer growth, churn and product engagement to help inform strategic decisions and succeed in partnership with BaseKit.
Here are three insights highlights from the past 3 months:
#1: Paid churn reduces by over half
Across paid packages, customer churn has reduced by 54% YOY
Across all paid Site, Store and Bookings packages offered by BaseKit partners, user churn has reduced by 54% year-on-year. This shows small businesses are investing for longer in the BaseKit products they are parting money for from our partners.
In April last year BaseKit released a refreshed onboarding experience for BaseKit users, and in November, we saw a 75% increase in store activations post our onboarding re-vamp.
In March, we launched the Customers Application to BaseKit Store and BaseKit Bookings – a single place for customers to view and manage all their customer details and transactions. This realised a key foundational part of our BaseKit Connect vision – to connect the many separate steps of transacting online into a simple and repeatable workflow, and save time for small businesses.
We are continuously looking at ways to evolve our products and make improvements, regardless of how big or small, so that small businesses can easily create the websites they love!
#2 – BaseKit Site publishes increased by 20%
New BaseKit Site publishes across partners increased by 20% YOY
The number of new websites published with BaseKit Site-only packages, offered by BaseKit partners, has increased by 20% year-on-year. This demonstrates users are more engaged and committed to their package by seeing their new subscription through to launching an online business presence.
In addition to improving website page speed across all BaseKit websites behind the scenes in 2023, when it came to visible improvements to BaseKit Site, we shipped a lot of small changes in response to customer feedback and improved the overall performance of the site builder especially for large websites.
For BaseKit Site, coming this year our ‘precision layout’ feature will give customers much more control over the arrangement of everything on a web page with the finest precision. We’ll also be adding more AI into the platform to enhance their experience with text creation, images and website templates.
#3 – Full BK product suite uptake increased by 65%
Subscription uptake of BaseKit Site + Store + Bookings packages increased by 65%.
The uptake of new subscribers to the full BaseKit product suite – Site + Store + Bookings package – increased by 65% in Q1 (January – March 2024), compared to Q4 (October – December 2023). This shows the importance of, and demand from small business owners to both sell products and services from one convenient place.
In 2023 we reported the volume of BaseKit partners who requested BaseKit Bookings to be added to their existing digital packages quadrupled year-on-year.
In 2023, we continued to release features to all our products, together with the launch of ‘The Customers Application’ on BaseKit Store and Bookings packages specifically.
Q1 2024 has already seen AI enter BaseKit Store with the ability to create unique product descriptions powered by AI. Plus a new dashboard page now offers a fresh starting point for customers when they login with instant access to the products they need most, first.
We’re also excited about the Q1 release of the first in a series of new Premium+ features planned on our 2024 roadmap. Customers can now automate everyday tasks and save time by connecting BaseKit to 5K+ other apps using Zapier.
These highlights are testament to the evoviltion of the BaseKit Platform in response to our partners, and the needs of their customers.
For 2024 we have a host of new features in our product roadmap largely driven by AI, design excellence and customer engagement through even more improved product onboarding. Watch this space for more highlights.
